How to Help Charities in Need During Covid-19

We at Propel Consult are in full support of the great initiative organised by our friends FlowFolk and Charity Talent under the Talent Motion Group.

Like our friends, we are in full support and have started early stages with some charities to offer our services, free of charge. I spoke with Breast Cancer UK yesterday who have seen a number of their staff furloughed due to a significant drop of 91% in donations, they are concerned and worried about how their years of great work has already been severely impacted in such a short space of time.

Where possible I believe its required for everyone to play a part in helping these charities in need.

“We have reached out to our client base to understand the key challenges they face and see how we can offer our time on a voluntary basis to try and help. The charity sector had to furlough larger numbers of staff at the same time as trying to transition in to a new way of fundraising through initiatives such as virtual events. We are going to work with George Thomas and Dominic Evans at FlowFolk a leading recruiter within the marketing, digital and data industry to introduce furloughed staff who are allowed to volunteer to the charity sector. We think this could be a great opportunity for these talented individuals to assist and even potentially come up with new ideas of fundraising and in particular support some of the smaller charities who either don’t have this function in house or have had to furlough these individuals. If you’re a furloughed employee who already works within the charity sector who would like to volunteer and offer their experience please drop us a line. We would love to hear from more of our clients and the sector in general to see if this volunteer force could be of assistance in say your direct marketing fundraising team, rebranding website, creating new content, launching new virtual events.”
